Congratulations, Kay!  How was your bicycle ride?  I've wanted to try riding a bike since my surgery/radiation back in '06 but I can't find a kid who'll lend me their bike.  :)

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

Woo Hoo, Kay!!

Brings back memories of my first time on a bike ...... many, many, many years ago  :o  ..... my sister (older than I) and I had only one bike for the two of us (OK, all together now ..... "and I walked a mile to school everyday") ..... but I digress.  She most unwillingly let me try riding "her" bike without giving me any instructions, including how to stop it ..... mind you this was a coaster brake bike.  Luckily there were soft bushes nearby.

I am afraid my bike-riding days are a thing of the past, but congratulations to you for proving you can do it!!  Onward and upward.

Congratulations, Kaybo!!

It's not that hard, is it? I had to try it just to prove to myself that I can do it. I saw a pogo stick in an ad and was tempted, but that would be suicidal.

Ok, first things first - Syl - step away from the pogo stick.   :D

And Kay - I'd be willing to bet there's nothing you can't do.

Way to go Kaybo!  The more you ride the better you will get at it, I found that more of my riding problems came from my mind then from my body.  If I thought I couldn't do it I couldn't or at least not very well, when I decided I could things went a lot smoother.  I always remember what the doctor told me I could and couldn't do right after surgery, he was wrong so I figure he could be wrong about what I can do 18 years later.

So, what's next?  I tried snow skiing once, won't do it again, not AN related, just chicken! Jill

K,
Have fun with your bike and the weather should be good pretty much year round. ;D Fun exercise with the kids.

I remember the year after my surgery, back home with the kids in TX while hubby was stationed in WA:
Got on my bike without really giving it a second thought and did great. It was the vision thing I had to worry about. (I had already compensated the balance thing).

Sold it to a teenager for 10 bucks when we moved. I want to buy a new one, but hubby is poo pooing that idea, since we live rural now. Not gonna let that bring me down~
