Long day but we are on the other side now YEAH!!!  Finally got to see Anissa tonight at about 8:45pm and she was doing great.  The nurse in the surgical waiting room told us that we couldn't see her until after 8:30pm so we were a little late and she was already sending out the search parties to look for us.  Can't help it if the cafeteria was 1/2 mile walk.  Oh well she was doing great and we were able to visit with her for about 2 hours because she was doing well.  I would have never expected her to be laughing and talking on the phone to one of her friends.  No signs of any facial nerve issues and the doctors said she was doing exceptionally well for being in a 11 hour surgery.

Anyhow things are going well and I think Anissa will have a good recovery.  I want to thank you all for the concern and support through this whole process.  I know that each and everyone of you is a credit to her success.  I'm going to rest now and prepare myself for the road ahead.  I know now that she will need me to be as strong as I can for her.

Wow!  Talking on the phone to friends!  That's amazing!  I was in and out of consciousness and vomiting!  She's amazing!
Right sided AN 2.7cm at last MRI.  Hearing loss/facial numbness.  Translab scheduled March 11th 2009.  Translab at Royal Melbourne Hospital, Australia successful!  Total tumour removed, SSD, no facial issues, numbness has left the building, balance issues but they'll get better and I'm loving life!

What a nice end to the day. And I agree with JB, talking on the phone already is amazing.

You are both going to do fine, Chris. Have a good night.

Chris:

I knew Anissa would get through this just fine. It was you I was worried about. But it looks like you'll be fine, too. Eleven hours is a long surgery so I'm glad that she's able to talk on the phone so soon.

Another successful surgery. Yey!!

That is great news Chris,

The hard part is over.  All the worrying and wondering.  It sounds like she's going to do fine, congratulations!

You've had a long day Chris, time to take care of you.  The best thing you can do for Anissa is to take care, so she don't have to worry, just rest and recover.  Scarlett was worried about me constantly.  I had to reassure her that I had been taking care of the Boys (our cats), eating, getting my rest, and keeping our new friends up dated.  Quite honestly I couldn't wait to do the updates.  I'd feed the Boys, do the updates, then eat, and go to bed.

Super news,

Rich & Scarlett

Wow, another amazing surgery outcome . . .
I was up in the night wondering but not enough to get out of the warm bed.
I'm off to spend the day in the hospital anyway . . . pre-op day.
Congratulations to Anissa!  The lovies worked.
Good luck with caregiving, Chris, but it seems her surgeons have given her a boost toward independence.

Talking on the phone!  That's got to be a good sign!  I didn't talk to anyone in the room, much less on the phone, for several days...

Glad the surgery is over - for both of you!  Great to hear such positive updates - thanks,

Cindy

I bet Chris is getting some much needed sleep! :).  Anissa, on the other hand, is being woken up every couple of hours to make sure she remembers her name and where she is  ;)

Congratulations on a wonderful surgical outcome!  I was real grumpy when I woke up.  I even welcomed my wife to my side by vomitting on her (sorry!).  That was in post-op recovery, and my nurse was across the room somewhere with no way to get her attention.

I know I didn't talk on the phone OR use my laptop the DAY OF SURGERY!  Wow!  Amazing indeed!

You both continue to be in our prayers,

Ernie

Wow! I so didn't feel like talking to anyone, LOL. I just curled up and slept and slept.

Way to go Anissa! I hope your recovery continues to move forward quickly, just remember to listen to your body and sleep when you need to. Trust me, you'll know.

Hope you got a good night's sleep, Chris, you've earned it!

Take care, you two, and keep going with the healing!

Anissa,
Awesome baby! I felt like hammered "*#^!" for many days. That was the only word I could describe.
The euphoria of a successful surgery is a wonderful feeling isn't it? And thankfully the facial nerve is intact. Yea!
Heal well, and slow....We are rooting you on for an uneventful recovery.
JO and NANCY- you gals are next. Prayers are with you now.
