Fired.  Shocked the sh*t out of me - him, too.

Hey Mickey and Mary - so glad you can make it!!  I think Wendy and I settled on 12 noon.  Brendan's is near Penn Stn and walking distance to Grand Central and Port Authority, on 35th between 5th and 6th.  Here is the website:

http://www.brendansbar.com/

They have a brunch menu which is $16 pp plus tax and gratuity, so just under $25 per person.

Spouses welcome, of course!

We'll collect cell phone numbers from everyone as we get closer. You can PM either me or Wendy and we'll PM you back with our cell numbers.

Wahoo!

Hi Debbi

It looks like th luncheon is shaping up nicely.  Hopefully we'll be able to get a few more people this time around too.

Jan - Sorry to hear about your boss being fired so unexpectedly -- it sounds like it was a surprise to everyone.  Did they give him a reason?  I hope this doesn't spoil your plans for the symposium -- I know how much you were looking forward to it.

Hi to all,

It's late and I don't have enough energy to go back and do a head count right now but will do that tomorrow.  I believe Saturday is official barring some disasterous event that will keep people from coming.  Off the top of my head I think this is where things stand:

Debbi and her hubby - sorry brain fog is making is name escape me right now.

Rob and me

Neal

Eve

Joe

Wendy

Mickey and Pat(?)

possibly Dawn (?)

If I left anyone out, accept my apologies.

And Mary!

I made the reservations under the name of Debbi (go figure) and I said there'd be 10-12 of us, so sounds about right.  We can have them adjust the seating up if we need to.  Willie (hubby) and I will try to get there a little early - just depends on tunnel traffic.  Most of you have my cell number already - but if you don't have it, just PM me and I'll send it to you.

Yay!  Can't wait to see everyone!!

Wayne, you've got to come next time!!

Hi, ANers from NY/NJ,

I had posted on June 16 that I would be able to attend the luncheon on Saturday, but I'm going to have to cancel -- for non-AN health-related reasons.

Had gum surgery (for a receding gum line on a couple of teeth) a couple of weeks ago and am still on a very restricted liquid/soft food diet. Since I had very intentionally planned for this surgery to take place the week after I returned from three weeks in France (figured it would be a semi-painless way to lose the pounds I would inevitably gain on the trip), I'm not looking for sympathy ... but I had hoped the dietary restrictions wouldn't last quite this long. Two days after the dental surgery I broke out in a horrible case of poison ivy (face, neck, hands, etc.) from yard work I'd done a few days earlier. I've just completed a steroid regimen to clear that up -- I still have some intermittent itching episodes, so I can't get too far away from my bottle of calamine lotion.

The thought of going into the city, staring enviously at everyone's lunch selections while trying not to scratch my remaining poison ivy spots seemed pretty grim, so I think I'll wait until the next gathering.

I hope that everyone is doing well, and I'll look forward to seeing you at a later date. Please take pictures!

Best wishes,

Catherine (JerseyGirl 2)

Hi Catherine,

Sorry to hear about your gums and poison ivy troubles and also that you won't be joining us.  I'll look forward to seeing you next time.

Debbi - Thanks for making the reservation.  I meant to call you today -- well really for the last couple of days to see if you'd made the reservation or if I should.  I had planned on calling you in the morning and left myself a note but now see it is unnecessary.  I should have known you would do it.  I'm feeling rather disorganized lately.

Thanks,
Wendy

Oh, Catherine - I feel for you!  Willie has been plagued with poison ivy this year (I am immune for some reason) and is just one big itchy mess.  As for gum surgery, I wouldn't wish that on anyone!  We will have a mimosa for you, though!

Wendy, know what you mean about feeling disorganized lately!

I can't wait to see everyone tomorrow!

Hi, everybody,

Sorry to say  this but I won't be able to come on Saturday because my husband has severe back problems and  I will have to help him as much as I can.  Gosh, I wish I can join you! Hopefully, next time I will be able to make it. Have a great time and take pictures.
