Even my son noticed . . .
« on: September 19, 2008, 06:23:21 pm »
My usually clueless eleven-year-old son was outside this evening helping his father and sister gather limbs from a tree that we had to cut down. I stepped out to see how they were doing and he came over to give me a hug and tell me he loved me (mostly a ploy to stop working for a few minutes, but hey, it worked). When I sent him back to work, he turned back to say, "Mom, I think your face is getting better." So I wiggled my nose for him and he told me my cheek looks different when I talk. I think he described it as "your cheek goes in again." And I thought he was oblivious to just about anything pertaining to female appearance.

This forum hasn't had any action in four days, so I thought I'd share my story.

Sara,

That was a very smart way to get out of work!  Your son sounds just like my sister did when we were young!!   :D

And chances are, he wasn't just saying that to continue avoiding work - I'm sure he meant it if he said it.  Kids that age are pretty honest, even if you'd prefer them to not be sometimes!

Every now and then my 5 year old will say "hey, mom, your eye is looking good today".  While I know it doesn't look any different than it did 18 months ago, it still feels good to hear her say it.  I have a feeling your son is a better judge of these things though!

YAAAHHHHH!!!! Sweet little guy. I'm sure you are looking better. My 3 year old....Tanner asks every day if my eye is still "broken". YEP. It's still broken but by God I can see! Gotta look on the bright side.
