symptoms=increase in tumor size??
« on: May 10, 2014, 07:37:50 pm »
When/if you're symptoms come and go and appear to be stronger than before. Does that mean that the tumor could....maybe have grown?
MRI showed - 1.9cm x 1.9cm x 0.9cm AN - as of 5/11/13
MRI showed - 20.5mm AP x17mm  transverse x 20.7mm - 5/8/14

According to Dr Steven Chang at Stanford, there is not necessarily any correlation between symptoms and tumor size and/or growth. Small tumors can cause big problems and larger tumors can cause little or no problems. Likewise, a tumor can grow and not cause any worsening of symptoms and a tumor can remain the same size and cause an increase in symptoms. The only way to see what is going on is having a MRI done.
Diagnosed with 19x16x19mm cystic AN right side on 7/2013
MRI on 3/2014 showed AN increased to 21x20mm
right side 70% hearing loss, tinnitus, balance issues
CK at Stanford completed 3/21/2014 (3 sessions)
Dr Steven Chang and Dr Iris Gibbs

I had a huge AN at 4.2 cm pressing on my brain stem.  No symptoms whatsoever other than some hearing loss and ringing in my ear.

Symptoms can also increase/decrease with environmental factors- air pressure, stress, caffeine intake, etc.
