2nd follow up MRI
« on: April 15, 2014, 01:49:46 pm »
On Oct 6, 2011 I had minimally invasive surgery for a large AN. To preserve nerve function, the removal was subtotal. About 5% was left behind.

My first follow up MRI, on Oct 15, 2012, one year from surgery, showed stable tumor appearance.

Today's MRI, April 15, 2014 again showed stable size for the residual tumor. Exact words on MRI report are, no change from findings on 10/15/2012.

My new surgeon recommended a third MRI in another 18 months, or Oct 2015. (My previous surgeon accepted a position as chief of neurosurgery at a Los Angeles hospital last March.)

So far so good, as the residual tumor has not changed in size in the last 30 months.

Congratulations on your (no growth) 2½ year MRI results!  :)

Jim
4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.
