Swimming and Infection
« on: April 28, 2016, 11:20:47 am »
Is there any ongoing post operative ear infection risk while swimming in public pools or open bodies of water? If yes, what preventive measures might be used?  How long should one wait before swimming in pools or open bodies of water post op while considering infection to the wound and / or ear?

Personally I was not given the all clear to go to the gym and swimming until six weeks after my surgery. At the time no special instructions, only common sense. I would definitely check with your surgeon.
