Kris' Baby Boy!
« on: May 20, 2010, 06:15:09 pm »
Well, phase 1 of our journey is complete.  We had Parker Kristian Siwek on 5/18.  He weighed 6 lb - 13 oz and was 19" at birth, which is good sized for his age (35 weeks). His lungs were a little immature so he was intubated for about 5 hours, and spent another day and half in NICU for further treatment.  He was transferred from NICU to our floor's observation nursery just today  :D.  He gets to now spend some time with us in the room for awhile every few hours, which is awesome! We're so happy he's doing so well.

Kris is doing well in recovery from her C-Section. She's getting a little more mobile now and is trying to now catch up on rest too. Certainly a challenge for any new Mom, let alone one with a C-Section incision and an AN to deal with. She's hanging in tough though, and has a light in her eye that I haven't seen in awhile.

Some of her tumor effects have eased a bit, but still everpresent. Friedman and Schwartz have both stopped by and checked on her and feel she is doing well and we can continue on course for a June 4th translab. Whether her downturn with her symptoms the last month prior to surgery were due to estrogen fuel or fluid retention I guess we really won't know, but I'm just glad things have let up a bit so she can recover for a few weeks instead of rushing into another major surgery.

Thanks to everyone for their support, especially the local Los Angeles AN welcome wagon and some of Kris' special telephone buddies (you know who you are). We can't begin to tell you how much the help has eased our transition to this crazy whirlwind of a journey we're on.

Phase 2 starts soon, so we'll keep you posted on that as it draws near.

What wonderful news!  I'm so glad everyone is doing well!  Kris is obviously a strong lady and I just know she'll do well and be able to be an awesome mom to little Parker!  I'll bet he'll be the best medicine ever!

Give new Mommy a big hug and your new bundle of joy a big kiss!  Can't wait to see pictures!

Thanks for taking the time to give us the news!

Welcome to Parker and whole family!           It has to be a relief that he is here and very nice size for so early and no severe ongoing lung issues.      He will be a enjoyment while mom is recovering from the  c section and waiting for the AN surgery and then being a AN postie!                     Best wishes to you all.                 Cheryl R

Congratulations on your new baby boy!  Kris sounds like one strong lady, especially since she's planning her AN surgery so soon after her C-section.  Kris must truly be one very strong lady.

Best wishes to all of you,

Congratulations and many blessings to your newly expanded family!  I also found that many of my AN symptoms eased up within hours of giving birth (I still had the tumor when I had my 2nd baby).  May recovery continue to go so smoothly!

I can't figure out how to put in a pic into the body of the text, but I put one in for my profile pic.

I'm a little bias, but he's pretty darn cute if you ask me.
