Update 5 year MRI results
« on: February 12, 2024, 11:21:17 pm »
Hi all just checking in - no change to AN or hearing this year. A big relief as I had RSV and Covid last year and was worried!
Also I checked with my specialist on something - one cant take antioxidants during treatment but after 5 years post CK, he said fine re supplements I am taking.
He also said he prefers it if I continue to come in every year so I will. Plus they can track brain health generally.

Thank you much Dan and Stella! x
Yes I dont get it either.  He is very old and a bit vague so I dont know except he said he just prefers it. I do get my own reports and I am seeing a neurosurgeon Prof Lewis  this Friday- only because I made the appt a year ago re ear pain when I lie on that side and because some non-specific white matter hyperintensities in cerebellum  showed on MRI last year. My GP said ageing most prob the cause.
Prof Lewis is an expert on radiation and AN and I have questions such as supplements and if I am at risk for dementia post radiation and viral infections.  My attitude is that the annual MRI its free - plus its a good way to check my brain health too as I get older- am 63 now. I feel fantastic health wise and would like to stay that way.

Thank you for sharing the update on your progress, and thanks for being part of our ANA community!
Burning Tongue, Loss of Hearing & Balance, and Tinnitus led to MRI. Very small AN found on 11/23/2021
While watching and waiting, lost significant hearing. WRS now at 12% (down from 100%). Was fitted with CROS system on 3/7/22.  Stable MRI on 7/29/22
No treatment yet.
