GK at MAYO?
« on: August 18, 2007, 09:07:30 am »
Has anyone had experience with GK at Mayo with Dr Pollock?  I am newly diagnosed with a 10mm AN and am considering GK just after Thanksgiving.  Thanks to everyone for all your posts, this site has been both scary and helpful.

Hi Betts,

  Sorry I don't know anything about Dr. Pollock in particular. But The Mayo Clinic is a top of the line hospital, you can't go wrong there. I have had a consultation on GK with a radiation oncologist here in Oregon. GK for a 10mm AN is a very straightforward treatment, almost any GK facility would be able to perform it correctly and well. They really just have to take the pictures, then sit down and get all the math right.

Good for you for bravely making a good choice. You will get first class treatment at the Mayo Clinic, and I would expect a very successful outcome in a case like yours.

Hearing lasted a while, but left side is deaf now.
Right side is weak too. Life is quiet.

Hi;

   I believe Dr Link, Neurosurgeon and GK Center Director will do this.
   Isn't Dr. Pollock an Otologist?
   I go to Mayo twice yearly and see Link and Driscoll.
   Mayo has a fine reputation world wide. I can envision a success for you, Betts!
