Lainie

I am thinking of going for two reasons.  One because I love Chicago.  Two because I would love to challenge doctors on post-surgery and the lack of understanding.  But since I have been knocked out of my acting profession, finances may be a bit of a challenge.  We shall see.

Thank you all for your positive feedback on the article!  I've received a number of wonderful emails from lay readers across the country.  None so far from any doctors -- I hope they are reading as well.

David, Lainie, let's go raise some hell in Chicago!!

Happy holidays to all!

Still waiting on my newsletter  :(

Am definitely attending the symposium.

Note to David -

I believe the ANA has something where those who are strapped for cash might get a little sponsorship from other attendees.  I don't know how this all works, since this will be my first symposium, but I believe attendees can somehow contribute funds to help their fellow forumites/ANA members out.  Those who want to take advantage of this sponsorship would have to contact the ANA and ask for more specific details.

It seems like most of us are strapped for cash these days, but hopefully things will work out for everyone and we'll all get to meet each other in August.

It is all explained in the registration materials included with the current issue of the newsletter.  ;D

Thanks, Steve.

If I ever get my newsletter I plan on giving something to the "sponsorship fund" when I pay my own registration - and I urge others to do so.  Every little bit we can give will help someone else in our "same boat".

Being from the Chicago area I won't have to pay much to travel (just the cost of going downtown), so I'll only have hotel and registration fees.

This year won't be as costly for me as future years when the symposium is further away from where I live, so I'd like to help others who will have to pay more.

I'm also assuming that this contribution will be tax deductible - just like any other contribution to the ANA - so that's a nice "perk" when it comes to filing my taxes 8)

I hope whoever goes has a great time and learns a lot.  I didn't "re-up", so I don't get a newsletter anymore.  But, I think the last symposium was very interesting and a lot of fun for the folks that went.

I finally got my newsletter today - or it could have been yesterday; I just got home from being out of town tonight.

Haven't had a chance to read Francesco's column, but will do so tomorrow.

Did peruse the symposium materials.  The registration fee is definitely very reasonable; wish the hotel rate was a little more so  :P

My bad.  Of course the main reason why I would want to go to Chicago is to meet all of you -- then take on the doctors -- and of course sample the Chicago nightlife.  It's my favorite downtown city.

And btw, the issue with finances is that at this time I have to watch my spending with all the medical things I'm dealing with.  It may be no issue at all as time gets closer.

Have a great week

David -

I hope you are able to make it to Chicago.

I know Steve is buying ALL the drinks @ the symposium, but if you do attend, I'll personally buy you one  ;D

You're on  ;D

But you have to remind me of the drink specifics in August.  I don't know a Grey Goose from a brown one LOL
