am i going crazy!!!!!!
« on: February 06, 2012, 03:57:31 pm »
okay, so i am getting headaches with numbness on one side  and my eye isn't drooping, but it isn't opening as much as my other eye. (I have two facial neuromas. ) It feels as though my eye is dry but its watering all of the time. Could this be related to the neuromas.... I think, my family think I am imaging it and my consultant keeps telling me he thinks I have BVPP, I think that's what the initials are.. I hate the exercises you have to do for this as it makes me worse the next day. Am I crazy......

It feels as though my eye is dry but its watering all of the time.

When I went to my opthomologist and made that statement, he told me when your eye is dry it waters more to try to lubricate itself.  He suggested some OTC eye drops (GenTeal I think is how it's spelled).  When I remember to use them it help

Yes it would be related to the neuromas.       The tumor is impacting the facial nerve more.    Are you planning on treatment at some time as sounds like you need it and with a neurolotigist who knows facial neuromas well.                     I have had one with surgery and a nerve graft done at the same time at Univ of Iowa.    Many surgeons remove what tumor they can and leave some and you can have radiation done if there is growth.
Do use a heavier type of eye lubricant.     I use Refresh Liquigel and only need it occ and do use the Refresh pm at night.      I have never had a problem with one with preservatives in it but some do.       You may have to experiment with what works best for you.
Good luck with this but sounds like better be getting checked out.                       Cheryl R

Cheryl is right. You should have it checked out cause it does sound like your its irritating the facial nerve more. What are your plans for treatment? If you need any help we are here for ya and will try to answer any questions you have.

Thanks guys. I learn more from this forum than from my specialist..... He keeps telling me that it is nothing..... I shall just have to persevere and ask my on line specialists whenever I have any questions. :)
