MRI and dental crown question?

I just had a porcelain over metal crown done.  Will this interfere with MRI?

It shouldn't.  I have a porcelain-over-metal crown and have never encountered any difficulties during the 7 or 8 MRI scans I've had in the past 2½ years.  It might be a good idea to check with an MRI tech about this, just to be absolutely certain, but I would be surprised if it were a problem, as many, many people have porcelain/metal crowns.

I have 2 crowns also, and never had a problem with MRI's.  I think if it was an issue, there would be a lot of people not able to have an MRI.

I'm sure they'll ask you the usual 9 million questions when you arrive at the imaging place anyway, and that may very well be one of them.  I can't even remember... ???

I was an RDA, CDA and no, it isn't a consideration in the MRI.  (although to obviously protect myself legally, get the formal Okay!

  I also have a porcelain over metal crown, made with titanium.  And MRIs have not been a problem.  Metals with iron content could be a problem, since they would be affected by the strong magnetic field generated by the MRI machine.
