Salty Taste in Mouth
« on: May 20, 2005, 02:45:15 pm »
I am 10 month post op.  Had a 2.5 cm AN removed via trans lab.  During the last month I have noticed a very salty taste in my mouth.  I have no head aches or nasal discharge.  Should I be concerned with CSF, or is this something normal to experience.  Any comments would be helpful.  Thanks.

Bob,
One of the signs, I was told by my neurosurgeon, is a salty taste in your mouth.  I had a sort of combo taste of salt/metallic.  10 months is longer than when mine was found at 4 months after.  Still, maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to give the doctor a call just to be on the safe side.

CSF leak repaired 5/04

I would have that checked out right away. My doc said to watch for that and contact him immediately if it happened. Let us know what you find out.
