What's this about dental exrays?
« on: October 31, 2007, 06:32:46 am »
I heard a little at a meeting about dental exrays could be bad for someone with an AN

Does anyone have any information on this subject?

Richey:

I believe you were misinformed.  To my knowledge, and I'm not a doctor or scientist, normal dental X-rays have not been shown to affect acoustic neuroma tumors.  You might want to read this brief study done on this very issue at the School of Public Health. University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, North Carolina, just two years ago.

I hope this helps clarify this issue for you.

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.
