8 yr anniversary
« on: November 01, 2009, 10:14:17 am »
Today is the 8 yr anniversary of my first AN surgery!        Hard to believe it has been that long and what would be happening in the future when became NF2 in time.         Just had to add this as is something I do not forget.         It has made life quite a roller coaster ride.       I do feel very lucky in spite of the ups and downs!

Thank you Donnalynn and all.             I am just grateful that this forum is here to  to let people know that that there is life after finding an AN!          There was almost nothing being said back then that one can recover welll in time.
My excitement of the day was doing a Target and Walmart run.   Much more fun than  spending the day in an OR and ICU.           Target now has their Pepperidge Farm TimTams out!
I did not buy any  but good to know they are available for the holiday season.           Cheryl R

Cheryl -

eight years?!  What a milestone.  I had no idea your first AN was so many years ago.

Life is short.  Buy some of those Tim Tams and have one for me - I've never had one.

Eight years? For some reason I had no idea it has been that long. Well done, you are a great example of how to keep on living life in the face of an AN - or two!

Have I knit you a hat yet?

Congratulations, Cheryl!  Sending you a big hug!

I will never forget how touched I was when you mailed me your leftover eye patches last year.  It was an act of complete kindness that I'll always remember.

Steve,    Doesn't seem like should have been that long.        Plus Kate B is also as I was done at the first of Nov 2001 and she was the last of the month.          But then I went on to have the facial neuroma surgery in March 2006 with the CSF leak 2 weeks later  and the April 2008 AN on the other side.                        I so hope this is it.                 I doubt if I would have hung around here with just the one as did well in time after it.         Now I have more of which annoyance of the day is it going to be.     LOL!  That is more if go some where and deal with the hearing some people or walking in certain places.
No hat, as think mentioned it right at first and then didn't say any more about it.              Any pastel is fine though!

Cheryl ~

Please accept my slightly belated congratulations on achieving the 8th anniversary of your original AN surgery.  Your attitude is infectious (in a good way) and your presence on these forums much appreciated.  I'm sorry you've had to deal with NF2 issues but glad you chose to be a part of our 'family'.  :)
