satman checking in
« on: July 24, 2009, 11:44:48 am »
hello everybody i have stepped back from the forum for awhile and just wanted to say hello to everybody.
i still have no facial animation on the left side and my balance is 80% of what i use to know as normal, the left eye still has no blink reflex but other than that i am good,i guess i finally reached the point of acceptance, nothing i can do but deal with it,so be it.
i hope everybody is doing the best they can and just wanted to say thank you again for helping me get through what was the roughest part of my life,i truly am greatful.
kicked my little 8cm buddy to the curb-c ya !

Hi John!

Thanks for 'stopping by' I'm pleased to learn that you're doing well and are at peace.  I know many will join me in stating that we're glad we were able to be of help to you as you made your 'AN journey'.  Please feel free to post again whenever you wish.  You're always welcome here!  :)

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

Satman, it is good to hear you are in the acceptance phase....Please know that I went through many stages in my mental/emotional recovery and even though I am mostly in acceptance, there are still the occasional bad days and that's okay too. Stay strong my friend.

Hi John,  so glad to hear from you ! !
As far as the paralysis,  I know how you feel...

I had the T3 surgery done at Johns Hopkins 2007, & it has given me my life back !
I don't know if you've seen my before/after pictures,
it's at Facial Issues, (right now page 3) under 'Post Temporalis Tendon Transfer.'
On the 2nd & I think 4th page you'll see the progression of the surgery results.

Glad to hear your dealing with it,  what else can we do ?
Everyday throughout the day I have to take time for eye, mouth care,  still get the stares,  but,
I'm happy with my life & that's what's important !

Always good thoughts,   take care,  Nancy
