Thanks for all the replies and suggestions!  Luckily I do not wear glasses so I should be good there.  I will make sure my sun glasses are around the for the ride home, great idea.  My list started out long but its down to:  chapstick, m&ms, mints, toothbrush, toothpaste, bathrobe, button down pajamas, and slippers.  I'm going to fill my phone with my fav music.

Will the dressing cover both ears?  Will I be able to stick one ear bud on my good ear in the hospital?

My husband will keep the laptop as he will be updating my blog and I'll try to get him set up on here so he can update.

The dressing shouldn't be over both ears, but be prepared that you won't want to listen to music for a few days.  I don't recall a LOT right after surgery, however I am told that I was extremely sensitive to sound those first few days.  Music was the last thing on my mind (no pun intended).

HAHA Brian! Yea, thinking back I probably wouldn't have wanted music during the hospitalization, because my headache was so bad. funny how you forget, huh? Definitely used the music at home  though.
