Left

Great conversation here about the same but also noting AN location to being right or left handed.

Right.  Right-handed.  Also played in a band in my youth with my head next to mega-power speakers on my right side.  Hmmm.  I wonder how many fish-hatcherites have played in bands?

How did work go Michelle.  When last I noticed, you were getting some twitches.  Any more?  Any movement?

Left side here.  Right handed.  Lots of ear infections when young.  Apparently more on the left.

Side-note here....  Anyone notice relation of AN's to past experiences with ear infections???

Amy :)

I need to stop stealing threads here....
Left side 1.7 cm AN diagnosed 7/30/08
Misdiagnosed for 8 + years
Surgery, Sub-occipital, 11/17/2008 at Indiana University Hospital

I already noted that my AN was on the left - but didn't say I'm righthanded.

As far as the ear infections go, Amy, I think I recall a thread about this some time in the past.

Did you search "ear infections"?

I NEVER had an ear infection as a child.  I had ONE at end of college which they think now was WELL after the tumor started growing!

PS - I am right handed too, but do a lot with my left now since the stroke - I learned how to write again with my right hand but still write on the chalkboard with my left because is was/is MUCH quicker!

Left side!  I'm going for GK so not an issue unless they turn my MRI the wrong way during treatment planning, but if you are going the surgery route . . . . .make sure they get the correct ear.  Wouldn't that be a bummer if they went right when they should have gone left!  I am right handed and left footed!!!  I can also only wink my right eye!  Top that.  Nancy ;D ;D ;D

Left side.  That was my favorite phone side, too.  I miss it.  I've had to learn to switch sides which is awkward at work, because I write with my right hand and I have to hold the phone on the right ear with my left hand. :(

Well, Nancy, I used to only be able to wink my right eye, but since my right sided AN - now I can only wink/blink/close my left eye!   :-\

MK - I have the phone problem too - I always used my right ear before.  And 18 months later, I still hold the phone up to my right ear and wonder why no one is answering me!   ::)

if you are going the surgery route . . . . .make sure they get the correct ear.

Not to worry.  Prior to surgery, docs mark the "correct" ear - usually with some lovely color that isn't removed easily  ::)  My ear was marked for both AN and BAHA surgery - even though I was awake for the BAHA.  It literally took me days to remove my doc's initials written in deep purple from my ear lobe.  I finally had to resort to vaseline.

And, I too have the phone problem like MK.  Left ear was my phone ear and I used to be able to hold the phone with my left hand while using my right to write, type on my computer, or use my calculator while I talked on the phone.  Those days are over unless I get a headset which I really don't want to do.  Guess I'll just have to be less productive at work - don't tell my boss though  ;)

Been "marked" several times - my husband was the one to do the marking usually ::).

...Jan, you were AWAKE for your BAHA surgery???  Is that standard procedure, or are you just super brave?  (Sorry for the hijack :))

Right handed, right AN, 1 ear infection supposedly about 10 years ago but it was all about no balance looking back on it, must have been when it started growing.
Diagnosed 6/2008
Right AN 2cmx8x9
Sub-Occipital at Mass General with Martusa and McKenna on 5/31/11
Right SSD, very little taste
I think I will make it!
