BAHA care question
« on: June 19, 2013, 09:31:34 am »
I am 2 weeks post abutment installation.  Surgeon (from another town) left gauze strips over incision.  These were removed by my regular Oto on Monday along with stitches.  The surgeon gave me antibiotic cream to use.  I started using this after gauze was removed.  When is it safe to wash your hair normally?
Translab surgery 12/15/2008 followed by CSF leakage repair and 3 additional surgeries for MRSA of the brain (NOT typical) SSD,  facial and vocal cord paralysis, numerous reconstructive surgeries, Transear 12/2010

How was the surgery? How long do you have to wait till you get the device?

The surgery was amazingly easy.  Absolutely zero pain.  I have not even taken a tylenol.  So far, no signs of infection.  I n August, they will plug it in.  My doctor said 8 weeks.  I think some say longer.
