Hey Mike & Jan, I went to that site  .... http://www.earcentergreensboro.com/baha_device.htm#Conditions ..... and happened to find "Esteem" an interesting under-the-skin hearing device that is not yet approved by US food & drug admin.

Long story short .... from that site I found:  http://www.envoymedical.com/   the mfr of Esteem.  On that page, click on the American flag and, as you search around, click on How Hearing Works at the top .... then click on the two links under the picture for interesting clips inside your ear.

I think this might be a device to enhance hearing loss, but perhaps not SSD.

I saw that to Greg the only thing with me is it would not work because my cochlear does not work in my right ear "nerve deafness" so I do not think it would work for me.

Hey Mike,

I know what you mean ... and that Esteem probably doesn't work for SSD .... but when I saw it, I thought ..... wow! the advances in technology are so interesting that perhaps some day, SSD and other types of deafness might be able to be reversed ... or at least more fully overcome.  That would be great!
