Double Vision/headaches

I have been haveing double vision. I have a really bad ear infection in the AN ear. I had the operation in Nov 06. but I started having double vision. does nay one else have this. Yes I saw the eye  doctor and he said that I am ok .I was looking for someone too do vision therapy, rather then surgery on the eyes. was just wondering if anyone is haveing this problem or it was only me .....

I also have the problem with double vision. I also went to have my eyes checked and he said my vision was fine.

I got double vision during my surgery, when I woke up I immediately had my problem. I was told to wait at least one year before I do any corrective surgery. My eye is directed towards my nose and I cover my glasses up with black tape so not to use my "bad" eye.

My eye dr says it has improved by him measuring how far my eye goes side to side. In my opinion until it is totally aligned up with the good eye it is useless so I am very anxious to get this fixed. I have an appointment with a specialist at the Univ of Fla at Shands hospital in June. Hopefully they will give me good news and be able to do something for me soon.

I've been living with double vision for years now. It started out as lightheadedness and became double vision 5 years ago. My surgeries were in 2005. The double vision was at its absolute worst after surgery. I had to wear an eye-patch for two months afterward. Over time, the double vision gradually eased up and has returned to pre-surgery level. It's especially bad when I shift my eyes or turn my head to the left - left-side AN - and at times it can be almost kalieidoscopic. It's strange how some of us never experience the double vision but are instead afflicted with other maladies - i.e.: facial paralysis, trigeminal pain or headaches. It seems that it's all a matter of what nerve tissue is impinged on and how skilled the surgeons are when excising the growths. In my case, having the huge growth I had, they left some of the growth behind in order to not hurt the facial nerve. It worked! I have not had one iota of facial weakness. I have numbness from the trigeminal nerve, but no paralysis whatsoever. Those doctors at Mass General and Mass Eye & Ear are first rate!

I have double vision, as a result of my surgery.  While I was in the hospital, I was sent to the eye clinic to have my eye checked.  As a result, I am now wearing glasses.  My prescription is normal for my right eye, and I have a prism on my left lens, it corrects my vision.  My eye is only slightly crossed, you cannot tell by looking at me. I was told that I could get the glasses with a prism or have surgery.  At that point, I had had enough of surgery and opted for the glasses.  I am going for a check up in June and at that time, I think I am going to inquire about the corrective surgery.

Reading through this thread and wonder if this problem is due to weak eye muscles?  Would eye exercises help such as those performed in yoga to strengthen weak eye muscles?  If I'm totally off base, then I will bow out with my sincere apologies.

I checked in to the double vision trouble and they have vision focus classes that help strengthen the eye to stay in the correct form . all though it is not done here. I have the problem that if i move to fast i get sick. which is not good. I am getting a rollator rolling walker that if i get dizzy i can set down and that should help. I am on medicare now for other disability, strokes,etc. so they pay 80% of the cost which realy helps alot..The dr. also said to put cool packs on the eyes would help relieve the pressure..

This would be the vidian nerve I was referring to in my post re; trigeminal nerve pain.....I was told if I get double vision on top of pain..that a prism style eyeglass will help..there is a post on here somewhere, that soemone had double vision, used the glasses for about a year and that fixed it.....hope that little bit is of some help.

Arushi, weak eye muscles, always a possibility but I think in my particular case I use my eyes actively, I work over 50 hours a week on a computer as well as did physical therapy a few months after my surgery on my face and eyes. I have a gut feeling surgery may be my only option, the eye dr's so far have not even mentioned the corrective eye glassess approach, I read that for the first time today in this thread. However, I will take your suggestion and mention it to my Dr when I visit them next month.
