Update on post gamma zap
« on: November 13, 2023, 11:52:46 am »
6 months after the one time gamma zap to stop the fast growing tumor and I consider this as a wait and watch.  So before it was 9.6 x 17 x 8.2.  The Post treatment 6 months out is 12.5 x 21.4 x 12.3.  Much bigger but the images show it is dying inside.  I have no new symptoms.  Still deaf in the left ear.
My treatment is at UCLA.  I also am doing my MRIs there now even though I live 8 hours away driving distance.  It is worth the extra expense of travel.

Thank you for the update, Moselle.  I was wondering how you were doing.  I understand that sometimes gamma radiation zaps the tumor and causes inflammation which in turn causes the tumor to grow larger temporarily.  But that is good news since it means the tumor may be dying.  I'm glad UCLA was able to confirm that for you (which means that the tumor is not growing larger due to continued growth).

Please continue to give us updates!
Burning Tongue, Loss of Hearing & Balance, and Tinnitus led to MRI. Very small AN found on 11/23/2021
While watching and waiting, lost significant hearing. WRS now at 12% (down from 100%). Was fitted with CROS system on 3/7/22.  Stable MRI on 7/29/22
No treatment yet.
