BAHA at MEEI
« on: August 31, 2009, 10:26:15 am »
I guess I could flip a coin . . .
I'm staring at the Mass Eye and Ear website, trying to decide between Drs. Smullen and Merchant for my BAHA consultation.
Anyone have any experience with either or both?
Thank you.
Nancy

Hi Nancy,

No help with the docs, as I'm in mid-Atlantic area (go Ravens!) .... but as for the hip, my 85 yr young Mom just had hip replacement in early August.  Pain mostly gone ... just somewhat uncomfortable as she has to improve strength little by little to overcome couple yrs of inactivity.  M

Many websites have lots of info.  This one is part of her doc's website ... it's been very helpful to Mom and we 3 kids.

Best to ya with your decisions!

SSD right. Tinnitus big-time, only when thinking of it.
BAHA since 7/20/10 ... really helps w/ hearing, specially after programming in subliminal message: "Hey, don't listen to your tinnitus!"

Oh!  He's cute!  No wonder your Mom chose him.    ;)  Thanks, Greg.

Nancy,

Let me know how the BAHA process goes for you at MEEI.  I hope to be following in your footsteps once I finish proton beam therapy with Dr. Loeffler at MGH.

Thank you.
Proton Radiation for my hemangioma at MGH December 2009.  Hearing has improved.  Doing great!
