Where, oh where, is the Magic Scarf?
« on: October 01, 2010, 08:39:12 am »
Is the Magic Scarf still in circulation?  I haven't seen anything about it in awhile.  I know the journal, unfortunately, had gone AWOL, but I thought the Scarf was still out and about.  Hope it's still doing its Magic which Debbi started so long ago!  Any one know for sure?

i remember someone else was looking for it a while back, and never knew if it was found at that time.  i never got the scarf, but miss hearing about the stories and seeing it modeled in unique ways!

I had the Magic Scarf in January.  Definitely lots of MAGIC!  Forwarded it to KIWI in New Zealand.  I did read somewhere that she did send it on.  Hope it is found.  It is very special.

Ok, so it looks like it was still in circulation at least in March...hopefully, someone will pop up to let us know where else it may have gone after its trip to New Zealand...

I have the Magic Scarf!  I got it from Sue here in Michigan after she had her AN surgery on May 20.  I had mine on May 27.  If anyone wants it, just send me a private message and I will send it to the next person.  Thanks!  --Carol Ann

Wow - who would have thought that the scarf would still be out there?  Glad it is still traveling the globe and bringing smiles to faces (or half smiles, in some cases!)

The scarf was here in NZ a year ago but I assure you it did leave the shores of this earthquake ridden land....but the diary never made it here.

Hey, Carol Ann!  Thanks for the reminder that you have the Scarf and thanks to Jay for bumping this thread...It can just go to whoever is having surgery next.  Jay has just started the "old" post showing upcoming treatments again.  The link is below.  Carol Ann, I would just contact one of the folks with an upcoming surgery and ask for their address so you can send it to them.  That's how I got it, anyway :D  Let me know if you need any help and I'll be glad to assist...

It's such a great tradition - I hope it can continue to float around the world helping other AN patients. For you newbies out there who don't know what in the world we're talking about, here are a couple of links discussing some of the Scarf's travels (there are many others if you search "magic scarf."  It was a tradition started by Debbi in NY.  Used to have a journal with it, but it was lost somewhere along the way, unfortunately.  There was talk about starting another journal, but don't know if that happened.

I was just reading some new posts and saw a new user, hendi51, who's husband is having translab in Memphis on March 15th.  They may be a likely candidate! Here's the link to that thread: http://www.anausa.org/smf/index.php?topic=14864.0
