Lynn,
Before my surgery I had daily headaches on the right side of my head. The pain was in the back and over my right eye. The tumor was on the left. However, it was pressing the ventricles and the brainstem to the left increasing the pressure inside my brain on the right. After the surgery all the pain is on the left. I can't believe all the headaches I used to get on the right are now gone. I wish the ones on the left would too. The pain is on the left in the back where my head was cut open and on my left eye and in several areas on the left side of my face. I believe it is part of the healing process. I have been seeing a new neurologist who is a headache and pain specialist. I am on several medications that are supposed to be helping prevent the pain but they are not working. I am going to see him again on Monday and hope he can help. Pain is a tricky thing. People don't understand what it is until they experience it themselves. I wish you well.
Lauren

The good and the bad

Sent to an endo guy who was the "god"  of endos.  Well respected for his days in research   About 35 years ago he  had done a 24 hour urine.  Said I was borderline Addisons.  Gave me  Cortef 10 and 10 and sent me back to my GP.  I stayed on it for a tiome, and dident "feel"  like taking it any longer.  Over the years I had developed hypothyroidism.  Then after my twins at 35, my periods stopped.  So I went back to him.  No test no nadda!  Now he tells me that I have Schmitz Syndrome, adrenals, overies, and thyroid.

For 8 years, I took 14 meds a day, an antidep, trank, synthroid, procardia, atnelol, lomotil, fenegrine, cortef,  florinef, estrace, provera fiorcet (120 per month), shots( those days) of immetrix, and lastly a sleeping pill.  Oh, and from my sepressed immuine syst, I contracted  v.menengitis which had some  b in it too.

I was so sick of being sick that when I moved to a place thathappened to be  3 miles from a hosp., I stopped taking the meds.  All of them.  I thought If I go into a comma, the hospital is close by..  3 months later I went into see an endo in my new state,  and asked why I wasn't dead?   He was UPSET, especially when he got the blood cortasal  test back

Well since then, 9 years, I take only synthroid and my sleeping pill, ambien or now with no ins., it's restoril..

B U T
he did send me, almost immed to the headache inst.  Kept me on fiorcet and added Pamalor which helped a lot.  Great for REM.

So MY Hero did send me to the Inst., where I was given an MRI, sleep study etc   But he I was a very medicine sick mom for 8 years of my kids lives.  Lost 2 semesters of college (Nov.  menengitis, went back in January and was still too sick), and I don't know what the steriods did to my soft tissues.  I seem to be the only one concerned!?

I learned to go with my gut.

Oh,  and if everyone but yoiur doctor tells u that your gonna have twins, your gonna have twins.

God bless the doctors who aren't afraid hear and  God Bless the doctors who have the confidence to "not know".

I'm sorry that u have gone through all that u have, but your experiences  have made you ONE of  a FEW.

Thanks for the vent;  but wanted u to know that someone else out there  has some knowledge  of a bad DX.  Makes u want to cry a river at times, doesn't it.

For all spelling mistakes, I'll forgive myself for everyone in advance.
