Neurosurgeons and clinics in Germany.
« on: December 24, 2019, 05:23:50 am »
Hello to all.

My name is Nikos, I am 45 years old and I am from Greece. My knowledge in english language is not great, so excuse me in advance for any mistake I will make.
Three weeks ago I made an MRI and I was diagnosed with AN (Acoustic Neuroma) in my left side. It is a big one, about 3.5 x 2.7 cm. My symptoms are of course a degree of hear loss in my left ear, not constantly tinnitus and some problems of coordinations.
I have also insomnia and emotional problems but if there are related with the AN or not it is debatable.
From what I have read and after a first visit to a general neurologist I understand that it is very possible to undergo a surgery. After Christmass I will search for specialized neurosurgeons in Greece. The problem is that my country is rather small and the doctors here maybe they do not have much experience about my condition. So I would like to ask if anyone knows any spesialized clinics and neurosurgeons in Germany. Untill now I have found in internet the " INI – International Neuroscience Institute" in Hannover but I am sure that there are more.

Thank you for your time.
Nikos.

Hello Nikos

hope you are doing great and please be sure that you will overcome that!

Similar story with yours, i am from Greece and currently living in the US. I had a similar size tumor removed 10 years ago with big success. And with that i mean i have no facial paralysis, i can move and feel my mouth, of course i had to work hard for my balance but overall the surgery was successful. i did a big research back them and i concluded that INI is my best resource and it proved me right and that is based by the outcome! I was also considering John Hopkins but INI is specialized only in brain surgeries so that by itself makes it reliable.

Be brave and everything will go well. Different but well!
3.5cm on the left side. Open surgery on September 2008 at the https://www.ini-hannover.de/en/  Total hear loss from left side. No tumor since then :)
