Pain during MRI after surgery and VP shunt
« on: August 29, 2019, 09:38:57 pm »
Hi
I went to MRI today after 10 months (I skipped the 6 months follow up, feeling good and grateful :). After second round of images (like 5 or so minutes inside the machine) I started feeling pain in the head closed to area where the VP shunt is. Pain continued and technician stopped the procedure, out of precaution. The pain was almost gone some minutes later but I still feel a little bit of pressure in the area but not much.
I am waiting to be able to talk with doctor in my city (surgery was in UCSD) to decide next steps. Shunt is working fine. Pain was strong during MRI, like a hammer hit my head. Anyone with similar experience?
Thank you. I am so grateful for this forum. Any words will be appreciated.
