NYSHIP Empire Plan?

Anyone here have NYSHIP The Empire Plan (government employees)? I’ve discovered virtually no doctors in the state participate. I am considering going to Johns Hopkins for a consult as their physicians are participants in the plan. I’m also curious if anyone with NYSHIP has has had surgery & how their approval process went as well as how much their out of pocket expense was.

Call up your insurance company and ask for a list of neurosurgeons.  For the heck of it, I googled NYSHIP and looked at the list of Neurosurgeon providers and there were quite a few.
