Vestibular Therapist Recommendations - Northern Virginia/Alexandria preferred

Greetings!  I am almost 7 weeks post-op and am having difficulty finding a therapist that truly understands what is needed for vestibular recovery.  I was going to a regular PT about a mile from my home that does balance therapy, but found that it wasn't helping with the gaze stabilization and my doctor says that I should be going to a vestibular therapist.  Yesterday, I went for my first session of VT, and was completely weirded out.  She didn't seem to understand acoustic neuroma recovery at all, felt the need to "check my scar" to see if I knew what I was talking about, wanted to do the Dix Hallpike maneuver on me to see if I'm having benign positional vertigo and lastly, wanted to do a "cranial adjustment" because she said that could help with the head wonkiness.  Maybe it's me, but all of this seemed completely inappropriate. 

I live in Alexandria, VA, and am having a hard time finding someone close enough that it won't cost me an arm and a leg to take a cab there, since I am still unable to drive.  Is there anyone in the local area that can recommend someone that truly understands what I need?
