Looking for Surgeon in NJ for BAHA procedure
« on: June 14, 2009, 12:09:59 pm »
Does anyone have any recommendations for surgeons in the New Jersey area who perform the BAHA surgery?  I have already consulted with Dr. Kwartler but he is not in my insurance network.  I prefer to stay in New Jersey, but don't mind travelling to NYC, Philly, or as far as Baltimore.

I don't have a BAHA but you may want to try Dr Roland at NYU.

Margen -

go to Cochlear Americas website http://www.cochlearamericas.com/index.asp  and "Find a Clinic".  There are numerous listings in New Jersey - probably some in Philly, NYC, and Baltimore, too.

I love my BAHA - hope you'll love yours also  ;D

Good luck,

Jan

I don't actually "make" trouble..just kind of attract it, fine tune it, and apply it in new and exciting ways

Margen,

I didn't get a BAHA but I know my surgeon "installs" them. He's a great guy too.
Dr. Lawrence Meiteles from Northern Westchester Hospital in Mt. Kisco, NY.

I don't think Mt. Kisco is all that far from you.

Diagnosed 12/08/2006. 1.7 cm Right Side AN.
Trans-lab performed on 02/13/2007 by Dr. Lawrence Meiteles and Dr. Raj Murali at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, N.Y.
TransEar worn since 4/17/07.

I'm pretty sure I answerred you, but Dr. Choe did my BAHA surgery.  He is affiliated with Mt. Sinai, New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and St. Lukes/Roosevelt Hospital in NYC and Englewood Hospital and  Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey.   He has offices both on the Upper East side of Manhattan and in Englewood, NJ. In my opinion, you could not make a better choice.   He is the most dedicated and caring physician I've ever known, and I've known quite a few.  You can get his information at the following website:

www.entandallergy.com/physicians/choe_wt.html.

Wendy
1.3 cm at time of diagnosis -  April 9, 2008

Extremely grateful for the wonderful Dr. Choe & Dr. Chen

Doing great!

Hi, I am looking for 1 as well. I had a acoustic neuroma and had dr. brackman of L.A. do the surgery. He is 1 of the top guys in the country, so I flew from N.Y. to L.A. Everything wentfine . I just called his office and he strongly reccomends Dr. Sujana Chandrasekhar. He trained her. I just made a date for consultation with her.  In NYC  212-249-3232  let me know who you decide on. You can check her out as well as brackman online
