Angie - this is the surgery I had 11/08.  Everyone has been complimenting me on how symmetrical my eyes look now ! (+ the fact that there's the 'medical benefit') - & the compliments keep coming ! !     You will be very pleased with the results.
Always good thoughts,   Nancy

Nancy,
so good to hear from you. Always a pleasure. Glad to hear you liked the procedure. I can't wait...and don't dread the pain or swelling at all. They said it could take up to 6 weeks for healing and sometimes 2 to 6 months for it not to be tender from the incisions. Can you feel the permanent nylon stitch under the skin? Did it give your eyes an upward tilt/smaller/change the shape? Should help me to get better closure since some of my blink has returned but just not enough so maybe this will do it!

Hi Angie (I just PM'd you).   My almond eye shape is back on the AN side.  Also, my AN eye doesn't look as large as it did prior to the surgery.
The only post op symptom that lasted was the occasional shooting pain in the area where my oculoplastic had to put a screw to help hold up the lower lid (you may not need that) - I think my lids were difficult to work with due to so many eye surgeries previously to try & fix the lower lid droop.   I can't remember when the pain stopped but it may have been just about 2 months post surgery.
I can't feel anything in there - only the small screw if I put my finger to where it is located - you can't tell by looking at me that there's a screw under my eyelid.
Always good thoughts,  Nancy
ps:  you can see how my eye looked just 1 week post surgery under Facial Issues: Post Temporalis Tendon Transfer,  pg. 4.

just home from the eye surgery. can't see to type but all is good. black blue and swollen and since my eyes were going to be swollen i thought I'd get my lips to match............yep, purely cosmetic on the ol lips and love it. The eye surgery wasn't too painful other than when they penetrate the bone to tie up the perm. stitch, i was awakw thw whole time an didn't like to hear the skin sizzle and stink. she used laser for incisions instead of scapel for nicer incision lines.

Hi Angie:  So glad to hear the surgery went well ! !   I remember the swelling - are you keeping ice on the area ?
I can't believe you were awake for it - I was kept sedated.   Well,  take it easy,  continued healing.
Always good thoughts,  Nancy

Hi Nancy, yes I was kind of shocked when they said here is a Clonazepam 0.5mg to help relax you before the surgery. I said oh yeah right do you know that I lived on 1 mg of this stuff daily for 2 years as this is part of the treatment for hemifacial spasms. I played tennis on the stuff, biked, whatever. Wasn't much of a comfort thinking this was my premedicated surgery medicine!! I did of course get all of the numbing shots but some of them didn't work that well and had to be repeated throughout the 2hour surgery. Still I thought it was a piece of cake compared to other surgeries I have done and just hope that it lasts. She said she couldn't guarantee that  as with most surgeries like this so if it has to be done over later on then so be it. They didn't use the screw in my eye like they did yours but if I have to do it again I will check into that since the canthopexy didn't hold and this lateral suspension may not hold either. Too bad these so called "permanent" fixes aren't always permanent but she said aging faces go south and same for the eyes. I believe sometimes even the T3 surgeries need revamped if the person is brave enough to go through it again later in life. Fun, Fun. My glass is just overflowing right now and I am LOVING life....couldn't be better. (and no I'm not being a smartie....I mean it.) Thankful to have this one behind me and looking forward to a wonderful summer with the kiddos. Disneyworld here we come!
 Nancy and Debbi,
Thanks for the well wishes.
Debbie,
Your yard looks amazing on your blog! My wonderful husband had my entire yard mulched while I was away. Now he's all gimped up with a pulled neck. Between the two of us we look like we've been hit by a car@lol.

Great news, Angie. Love life.  And if you're headed to Disney World this summer, may your children be as thrilled as my daughter was when I took her.  It rates as one of my top three memories with her.

;D for you Angie.  Sending some healing vibes your way...

Have fun at Disney!  We took Evan when he was 2, and I found out I was expecting Lilly while we were there.  (roller coasters NEVER make me sick.  Usually.  Apparently unless I'm pregnant.LOL)  I have lots of good memories from that place.
