Post by: tenai98 on April 14, 2009, 03:02:37 pm
I'm guessing it was my son's g/f who posted for me
Surgery was seven hours. left a little behind to save facial nerve. Had a very hard time coming out of anestetic ( sorry for spelling errors) I felt like a lead weight but on thurs they got me up walikin and I havent looked back since..no paralysis, no eye problem, no paiin, some liquids tasted like soap.  I am so happy...now for the road to recovry..long ans slow....i'm weak and wobbly but alive...time for a nap

Hi, Jo ~

Thanks for making the effort to post.  It's much appreciated.  I'm so pleased to read that you're doing so well!  When it comes to good outcomes for AN surgical patients, it seems as if prayers are being answered all over the place.  You'll be 'weak and wobbly' for awhile but that will slowly pass.  I think you're headed for a fine recovery if you're this good so soon after surgery.  Rest all you need to and update us when you can.  We''ll wait.  :)

Jim

Thank you, Jo.  I had the same struggle digging my way out of the fog.  I had had anaesthesia several times before and found this to be the most difficult, but those were all orthopedic lightweight ops.
Glad to welcome you to PostieLand!

Nancy, glad your treatment went well.  I was thinking of you in that heavy fog I was in. It was horrrible. But once they got me up and walking it was great. I could have come home sat but the extra few days were ego boosterd, plus fpreveryday in i get a hundred bucks. So it was worth it.  I feel so much better at home.

Hey, Jo!  Welcome home and congrats on being a postie now!  Look forward to talking with you more when you're feeling up to it!  Just take it easy and keep resting...walk a bit, but rest a lot!  So glad things went well for you!

Jo -

glad to hear you're home  ;D

At this point in time, weak and wobbly are par for the course.

You'll see improvement over time - it may be slow going sometimes, but you'll get there.

Yay!  The deed is done!  Welcome to postieland.  The price of admission is pretty steep, but you will find the inhabitants to be friendly and giving of their time.  We hope you continue to do well.

You sound like you're doing great Jo!  It's so nice to see updates from new posties.  I hope that's decaf tea you are drinking before trying to go back to sleep :)

Knitting and tea sounds lovely - my 24 year old daughter loves to knit!

My thoughts and prayers to you and your family for continued healing.

Jo, so glad to hear that you're home!  Good for you for getting back to your knitting already!  I haven't as much as looked at mine yet but I'm getting close.  Sounds like you are doing great, welcome home, and congrats on becoming a "postie".   ;D
