May -

where did you see this?

I obviously don't know everything about acoustic neuromas, but I've never heard of any drug that could shrink ANs.

Do you have any more information?

Jan

According to the manufacturers web site <www.avastin.com> it is a drug therapy used in chemotherapy for lung cancer, breast cancer and colorectal cancer. I did not see AN listed as a condition that it is used for but you can read for yourself. This is a serious drug therapy that has its own set of risks and I would think its use is something that you should discuss with your physician.

I have to be careful here
- once again right at the edge of "new information"
Alvastin is said to be next for a trial for NF2 tumours
(it has worked in an anti-cancer test in labs)
Basically while NF2 is not a cancer - at the early stage
of new growth the mechanism at a molecular level is similar
and something that works to suppress cancer growth
may well supress NF2
(The Bio 30 works on the same principle)
Will it work with conventional ANs ?
I dont know - I have not seem it mentioned
I think the growth bio-chemistry is different
but dont ask me to explain how
