Title: Hearing test makes tinnitus worse
Post by: mema on May 08, 2007, 04:45:11 am
I had a very good ENT who knew I had an AN after my first hearing test.  I then had a complete audiology workup.  Chose 25 FSR treatments.  5 months post treatment lost 90 % of hearing on AN side. It seems that after each hearing test my tinnitus gets worse.Due to go back for my yearly ENT visit.  Sort of afraid to get another hearing test.  Has anyone had this problem?

I had FSR too, and something similar happened to me. My hearing in the high frequencies started worsening right after the third month after treatment, and it remained stabilized till the seventh month. Now some of my frequencies are getting slightly better around 5 - 7 KHz but the frequencies above that remained unchanged. The total loss was about 15dB. My doctor said that the first six months is the period when most people have all kind of problems after treatment but gradually the symptoms improve with time. After one year after treatment my hearing loss has stopped  and as I said some frequencies got somehow improved. Hope this helps
