Title: gamma knife in pittsburgh
Post by: justpens on April 17, 2007, 05:07:20 am
Does anyone know of doctor in Pittsburgh, PA who does gamma knife, etc?  I have a regrowth and had previous surgery with Dr. Chen at AGH.  He does not recommend any type of radiation, says 54 is too young and future side effects.  He recommends surgery again (it's only been 2 years)

Thanks,
justpens

Hello,

The University of Pittsburgh is "Gamma Knife Central" in the U.S. and is one of the lead research organizations on GK outcomes.  One of the best places for Gamma Knife is in your own backyard!

Just research University of Pittsburgh on the internet and follow the links on the medical center and acoustic neuromas and a wealth of information will be available to you.

I think that you are very smart to research radiation therapy, given that you have already done surgery one time.

Good luck,
