Title: MRI results
Post by: Cheryl R on February 02, 2007, 10:53:02 am
I pulled up my MRI report at work yesterday and am not happy!               The tumor in my good leftear was 6 mm lthe end of last May and is now 11 mm.    It had been growing 2 mm a year previously.            I figured it was growing fairly fast for me to start to have the hearing troubles I am but not quite this big already.               The right sided one I had surgery on in 2001 was 12 mm or 1.2cm.                            NF2 sucks!                                    Cheryl R

Worrying times for sure - best to get it verified
- I`ve seen the same tumour offered at 8mm, 1 cm and 1.3cm (same sheet etc)
depending who measured it
Goes some way to explain why some are moving to the overall volume measurement
Either way, make sure its apples you are comparing with apples etc
It is said that with NF2 you can get dormant periods,
and growth spurts too - makes the timing of any treatment
harder to work out
Best regards
Tony

That's a bummer Cheryl :(
How will you proceed from here? How is your hearing? I just wanted you to know that I know what you are going through.
Take care,
Jeff

Cheryl,

Best wishes to you and whatever you decide, keep us posted! My doctor thinks I am an NF2 somatic mosaic with just one AN and one schwannoma of the scalp but who knows maybe another one is in my future.
