Title: Post-Op Care Specialists in NYC
Post by: loripennay on October 17, 2022, 09:26:46 am
I'm having TransLab surgery at NYU to remove my 3.7 cm tumor in 2 weeks, and would be grateful any recommendations for PTs, OTs, Acupuncturists, etc. (or other post-op providers I will need) in Manhattan to connect with before my new normal begins.  Could anyone give me recommendations? Thank you!

Hi loripennay!

Thank you for your first post on the forums!  I hope you will come back here often and share your experience further.

I'm not from New York and cannot recommend anyone there.  However, I will give you a few suggestions:

First, contact the New York City Group Support Leader: Miranda Warren Sacharin
617-879-0578
m.sacharin@gmail.com

She can tell you when the next New York City Support Group meets.  People that live in Manhattan are likely to be able to recommend names to you.  Support groups are wonderful resources.

Secondly, you can go back to the Home page and do a search in the upper right side by typing in 'Manhattan'.  (It will not work from this page -- only the Home page).  When you do your search, it will bring up a lot of posts about Manhattan.  Many of them may not be what you are looking for exactly, but you might find some recommendations for others besides providers.  And if not, you could always send personal messages through the forums to those who posted about Manhattan.  What I have found is that most people on the forum who post are glad to try to help someone else in their area.

Best wishes on your upcoming surgery!
Don

Good luck with surgery. My acupuncturist  on Union Square east cleared up my vistibular tightness in just a few sessions. Luke Hamilton
