Title: COVID vaccines post radiation- any side effects?
Post by: mwatto on August 02, 2021, 01:56:05 am
Hi all starting this thread under radiation. Bit worried re reports on hearing loss and loud tinnitus after Pfizer and Moderna. I have yet to have a vaccine and dont know which to have (Pfizer not available yet for my age group here and my mother died of heparin induced blood clots - though this was ten years ago and after a heart op) . My specialist said to me who knows the RNA one may even work in your favour and reduce the AN!   I guess he thought that was funny.  I did read of a guy with AN who had swelling and ended up having emergency op which I wish I had not read!!   Anyway confused and scared if this condition sets me up for any issues as so far so good I dont seem to have tinnitus. Anyone out there had a COVID vaccine and any side effects? Please share.

mwatto,
You and I are the newbie's here. I had the moderna about January, and no issues.  I have been fortunate and can't say a single issue with the vaccine. I will admit that I am all about staying on top of vaccines, so happy to have had it.  Again totally a personal decision, so good luck with what you decided.

So glad to hear you are all doing good there.  Good luck when it comes in, I will say I was lucky no issues with the vaccine and no side effects.  Maybe tired but who turns down an opportunity for a nap!
Keep us posted.

Apologies for bumping this old thread, but I'm actually looking for similar information. COVID has affected me too, and I'm constantly trying to stay prepared with face masks and gloves.
Regarding the vaccines, I haven't had any personal experience yet, but I understand your concerns. It's important to consult with your healthcare provider about the best option for you, considering your medical history.

Hi Kaya I am on the long haul covid forum- way more helpful than any healthcare provider re info on good supplements etc. Am ok now thanks to that. I no longer trust our health system. My concerns were dismissed as anxiety a few years ago when they happened- I now know that was BS. Thousands of us. It did not help I had an AN- but that was not affected it seems - last MRI this year showed more shrinking.

I had COVID original (2020?) and then I had three vaccines/boosters afterwards. I had no side effects other than feeling a bit under the weather in the days following the shots. But my radiations were in 2012 and 2022 (way before and then after) so maybe just too far from shots. I do not take any supplements. How far apart are we talking? Right now I have no plans for another COVID vaccine or booster shot.
