Title: Can stress cause Acoustic Neuroma?
Post by: SLD on May 17, 2021, 05:21:29 am
Been having lots of jaw discomfort and clicking on left side and seems real close to inner ear. Research indicates problems could be many things including stress. I have been under an insane amount of stress for a while now mostly stemming from my job of 18 years. Anyway, I stumbled upon an article that shows some possibility that stress may trigger an acoustic neuroma. I would love to hear more opinions and/or proof of this theory.

I can't speak to whether stress is a cause..but I can tell you that from just talking to a lot of folks who have had one, many of us are/were multi-taskers!!

Welcome to the forum and keep asking questions!!

Stress is never good! But when it comes to things like this, we need to remember "correlation does not equal causation." I'm not sure something like stress could ever be proved to have a causal link to AN. I just don't know how you'd prove it.
I know many things have been studied, including various types of exposure to cell phones, but they haven't shown anything conclusive.
