Title: Dr. Slattery at House Ear Clinic
Post by: lizzieb on November 29, 2006, 01:30:51 pm
Has anyone had experience with Dr. Slattery at House Ear Clinic?  I have spoken on the phone with him twice and he was quite nice.  I just haven't seen his name anywhere on this site.  Although, I have seen Dr. Brackman mentioned a number of times and it seems that House Clinic has a great reputation.  Any input is appreciated.

Hi Lizzie,

All the Doctors at House are good. You just have to choose which one you feel comfortable with. I went to an AN meeting in Chicago and a woman there told me about her experience at House. She told me that the team of doctors she used were Brackmann and Hitselberger. When I called for my consultation I asked for the same team. I have never made a better decision in my entire life. I am so pleased with how things turned out. If you would like any info about House or just have some questions, please feel free to email me. I wish you the best with your decision.  Ann

Maybe someone could help me out with this.
Dr. Slattery is going to do the procedure on our 8 year old daughter. This surgery is to repair a hole in the ear drum and to see if cholesteatoma is present. He's done a number of these types of surgeries, and has performed this procedure on children. Does anyone know of any children he has perfomed this type of procedure on? How did things go? Does he have a lot of experience with this operation on children?

The surgery will be done at St. Vincents Medical Center. Pardon my ignoance, but are there anesthesiologists that specialize in children? This was something that was brought to my attention that I never gave any thought to.
Thanks for any help someone can give.

I dont thing they specialize in children (but then again I'm guessing)...

but size and weight do have a very large effect on how one is "put under" .. I would assume it takes less "gas" to but under a child .. they have worked on children at St. Vincents before, and have a good rep .. I'm sure it will go well ..  :)
