Has anyone had a hearing aid while in pretreatment? While my hearing loss is not severe, I do miss things, and I can purchase a reasonably priced hearing aid through Costco. My hearing test was essentially the same as that done by the audiologist in the doctor's office. I was told I only needed a single hearing aid. My AN has been 1.4 x 0.6 cm x 0.5 for the past 2 years with no significant growth and not due for another MRI in 2 years.

I have not, my situation happened too quickly, but I have a dear friend who just picked up hearing aids in the last few months and he cant believe the improvement in life.
My mother just got on through Costco, and they let her wear the 'test' hearing aids in the store to see if it made a difference. She told me that she didnt realize how much she was missing until that walk through the store with the test hearing aid.
Would love to hear what you decide to do and how it goes.

Perhaps you have already made a decision, but I just saw this and have advice: Go for the hearing aid! There is no reason to wait, and you will be so much more comfortable with better sound. That is not to say that the one you buy today will be with you forever. If you choose surgery, hearing might be wiped out instantly in the AN ear. If you choose radiation, there will likely be a gradual decline in hearing that the existing instrument will not be able to keep up with. But you deserve the best hearing you can get, and you deserve it now! (I got a hearing aid about a year after CyberKnife. After about 18 months, my hearing had declined to the point that the amplified sound was so "muddy" as to be useless. Then I moved to a CROS system. The instrument on my AN side is essentially a microphone that transmits sound from that side to the other side, where a second device pipes the sound into my working ear. Works good for me.)
