Title: Ultrasound measurements
Post by: Nj2422 on May 16, 2019, 12:59:42 pm
I had an ultrasound done on multiple soft tissue nodules.
I’m trying to compare measurements for growth reasons.
(TV x AP x SI) it states on my report. My measurement is 1 x 0.3 x 1.5 cm.
Can anyone tell me length x width x depth?

Hi Nj2422 .....

I moved your post to the pre-treatment section for greater viewing.

If you have an acoustic neuroma, the best way to determine size and growth is via an MRI, rather than an ultrasound.  It is recommended that the initial MRI be with contrast but subsequent ones to monitor growth can be with or without contrast.

Nj2422, are you talking about an acoustic neuroma (aka vestibular schwanomma)? Ultrasound can't be used to measure an AN. MRI is the way to go.

TV means transverse - basically from towards the center of your head to the outside of your head
AP means anterior posterior - basically from the front of your body to the back
SI means superior inferior - basically from the top to the bottom
