I wanted to update my progress . My tumor was 2.1 cm and I finished my 26 FSR (fractional radiation) on 12/05/13 at Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. I just had my 5 year check-up and the tumor has not grown. I continued working at my job thru my treatments. My co-workers never knew I was being treated for a medical condition. I did feel nauseous at times and tired. Today I have recently retired. My biggest complaint is the loss of hearing in my left ear making socializing very hard. I asked my co-workers not to throw me a party for retirement just lunch with our small office crew, the real reason was I can't socialize in large groups because of the hearing loss and hissing , ringing in my ear. Hope this helps others who are considering treatment options.

Hi Coinman,
Thanks for sharing your update, it helps to hear other people triumphs (and struggles). It's great news that there is no growth @ 5 years! I hope there's good things for you in retirement too. I also struggle with (some) hearing loss on the left side- definitely makes socializing especially in groups challenging. Although a bit tricky to get used to, I found a hearing aid has been helpful for me.
wish you all good things and good health,
Stella
