Title: Indomethacin?
Post by: buzneg on July 17, 2018, 03:19:40 pm
I always heard it was for gout flair-ups,  like when people had lots of red meat and didn't drink enough water.  And they ached bad.

But I saw a few places people mention it for migraines and AN type headaches.  Anybody familiar??

It is an older non steroidal anti-inflammatory. I didn’t think they prescribed it much anymore except maybe for rheumatoid arthritis or as you mentioned gout. Did one of the doctors prescribe it for you?

Not yet but I did bring it up the other day.

I think they are getting back to me about it on Monday.  From what I recall, it's inexpensive and easy to find at any pharmacy anywhere.

"Some headaches such as episodic and chronic paroxysmal hemicrania are exclusively responsive to indomethacin. It is the medication of first choice in these types of headache."

It's certainly worth a try.  I am sorry you are experiencing these intense headaches.  How is the dizziness?  Has that gotten any better or worse after Gammaknife?

Was better at first than worse again and maybe getting better again.  I would love to get over the hump but that will take a process of changing to new prescription glasses that should be here any day and going to vestibular rehab therapy for at least 5 more weeks.  There is no real quick fix.

I still think Indomethacin could help in the meanwhile.
