Title: Can i have reliable diagnosis without MRI contrast (i am allergic!)
Post by: -petra- on April 03, 2018, 03:25:02 am
Hi there...

i am 44y old female from a small country in Europa and i feel helpless and scared.

Ten days ago i had a MRI scan of my pituitary adenoma. It was found 2009 in MRI scan with contrast and I had allergic reaction back then.

I had MRIs in 20012, 2014 and the last one was 10 days ago. My pituitary adenoma is stable, no grouth, but they found a vestibular Schvvanoma 5mm.
Remember, it was without contrast.
The radiologist wrote I have to do a brain MRI because of Schvannoma.
I am very worried because i cant use contrast.
How realible diagnosis it would be? It will be done on device of 3T.

Any opinions?

Thank you,Petra

My first and second MRI were done with gadolinium contrast agent. The next two were done with out. I do my own measurement and have no trouble doing it with the non-contrast MRIs. I request T2-weighted MRI, but the MRI operator should know the exact details.
