Had my 6 month post GK hearing test recently and was delighted to learn my hearing is virtually unchanged since prior to the procedure (78%)! Thanks again to Dr. Kondziolka, (Dr. Silverman, Dr. Osterman, and NYU Langone Medical Center). And now, my balance is so improved, I can jump up and down about it!!

Hi Martha,
Great news! I also am over 70 and had Gamma Knife at NYU. Wholeheartedly agree with you. They were wonderful. I had Dr. Rush and Dr. Golfinos about 14 months ago now. Doing very well. My AN was into the cochlea, so my word recognition did go away about six months after treatment, but am wearing Phonak CrosII and am delighted with the results. Also had some vestibular therapy for balance and that has also resulted in much improvement. I think as time passes, the symptoms do become lessened. I am very glad that I had treatment for my small AN (8mm) because its location was causing major symptoms and it was growing. Wishing you good luck in continued healing.

So happy they saved your hearing with radiation treatment!
