Title: Surgery scheduled
Post by: Shelley A on March 08, 2013, 02:40:39 pm
I have an official date!  I will have surgery on April 5th at Medical City Dallas.  Dr. Hahn and Dr. Coimbra will have the pleasure of removing "Bob".  I am so very excited to get to the next step and see what outcome God has planned for me!  I would like to know of any surgery day tips and recovery advice that anyone is willing to offer.  Also, I feel that this is going to be harder on my family than it will for me, so any advice for them would be great also. :)

Good luck to you Shelley! I have no advice to give as I am presurgery.  I am scheduled for 3/20.
I wish you well in the removal of "Bob."  I haven't named mine as I don't want to be emotionally attached to the sucker!
Best of luck--we are going to need it!  :)

Best wishes for Bob's successful coming out party. We're all rootin' for you.

As for your family, show them this:

Praying for you Anita!  Keep me posted on how yours goes!  And thanks arizonajack for the video!  How can you not smile when watching it?!

Shelley,

One piece of advice would be to set up a caringbridge page for yourself and your family to use.  My wife used mine to post updates before, during, and after surgery, and then I used it to let everyone know how I was doing in the weeks after surgery.  It was a great benefit to me to get so many messages of support and also to have one place to post messages to keep everyone informed.

Best wishes for a very successful surgery and a smooth recovery!

Ken

My thoughts will be with both of you.  I hope you give yourself time to heal afterwards.  We get to sleep through surgery.  :)
