Title: Anyone had facial retraining or NMR for paralysis?
Post by: amymeri on June 24, 2006, 04:55:15 pm
At 10 weeks post op I have no facial movement but am thinking that if I ever get any movement back, I am likely to need some facial retraining or NMR therapy.

Has anyone experienced the therapy and what kind of success/lack of success did you have?

I had facial physio. some years back. It was before I had any "plastic repairs". The major improvement I found from this was the closing of the eye, I was able to really build the muscles involved and able to get it to close tighter than it was. For facial movement I did see some improvement but not a lot in spontaneous movement so I had to really think about it when trying to get a smile etc.
