Hey Keith,
Okay, I am officially jealous!!! I don't get mine until Feb 17. So, tell ALL - how is it?
Debbi, right behind you...

Well, there are several concerns I have. One is I can't adjust the volume to match my good ear, there seems to be some white noise and I can' wear a hat. I have a follow up on the 17th.

Oh, too bad you have to wait that long. ??? I am approx 2 hours away from the audiologist who is "fitting" mine, so am hoping she gets it right quickly so I don't have to try to get back and fortth. I am trying to keep my expectations for the baha reasonable, but that said, it's hard not to feel a bit excited at the idea of being able to hear things.
Hope your concerns get resolved. Not sure about the hat, though ...

Congrats on your Baha turn on :) I am not sure if the Baha can be programmed to match the hearing in your good ear. I am still trying to get mine programmed better- it seems to be a trial and error approach or maybe just finding the right audiologist who has had alot of Baha experience. As for wearing a hat, I can't , so I just keep the Baha off until my hat comes off. Good luck!

Don't expect the hearing in your SSD ear to match to good ear, even with the BAHA. It will never be the same, but it will be a great improvement over what you had prior to the BAHA.

Keith,
Congratulations on getting "turned on!" Like Lauren, I'm not sure BAHA will be able to match your hearing ability on your deaf side to your good side. BAHA is a huge improvement over being SSD but, realistically, not the same as natural hearing. That said, I think once your BAHA is properly programmed you will be very happy with it anyway.
Best wishes,
Wendy

Congrats and you will love your BAHA. It's not perfect but much better than before I would imagine. ;D

I had my follow-up today with my audiologist. He was able to encrease the volume, and now I am a happy camper. The hearing test he gave me was simulating a crowd. There was a 7db increase wearing my BAHA over not wearing it. I am extreamly happy with it.

Yeah!
Another BAHA success story ;D
